YouTube Vanced was an altered version of the original YouTube app, with added premium features such as native ad-blocking, background play, and an AMOLED dark theme. Although discontinued, there are still people looking for how to use it. To get it installed, you had to download Vanced Manager, install MicroG (to allow sign-in with a Google account), and then install YouTube Vanced. The app provided controls for playback speed customization, resolution settings, and even skipping sponsored parts with SponsorBlock. But as it is no longer officially supported, alternatives such as YouTube ReVanced have become the de facto replacements, enabling users to patch their own YouTube app for comparable premium functionalities.
